The European Union's higher tariffs on China-made electric vehicles take effect today. State-owned Chinese automaker SAIC was slapped with the highest 35%, while China's EV giant BYD, 17%. These are on top of the EU's standard 10% duty on all imported cars. SAIC has threatened to file a lawsuit at the EU Court of Justice. China has slammed the bloc's decision, calling it a "protectionist practice of unfair competition". Tan Qiuyi reports.
