EYEHATEGOD bring their special brand of sickness to RC Bridge Lounge in New Orleans, LA on 5/28/94. Some of you may have seen this footage floating around before, w/ badly-synced audio/video. I went ahead & fixed that.
Mike Williams - Vocals
Jim Bower - Guitar
Brian Patton - Guitar
Marc Schultz - Bass
Joey LaCaze - Drums
EYEHATEGOD were at their absolute depth of depravity at this point ("EHG Prime", as I've taken to calling it). Mike is in full-blown Disgruntled Curmudgeon mode here, which was always best for all of us. The guitar that Brian is playing (an Ibanez) is the one he had when I first got to know him in '89, when my brother Tracy (RIP) & I used to go watch Soilent Green practice around the corner from our grandmother's house (Brian was in Soilent Green before he joined EYEHATEGOD). I played that guitar a couple times, after Soilent Green was done practicing, to jam w/ Soilent members Donovan & Glenn. Shortly thereafter, I formed by own band, Apostasy, & we played some sick gigs w/ Soilent Green. Brian let me use his Ampeg stack one night when we played w/ Soilent at Abstract Bookshop, to save us the time of hauling more equipment on & off the stage. That was the night that our vocalist, Troy, bombarded the audience w/ a bucket full of real cow blood. And yes, that is the classic MELVINS - 'Ozma' t-shirt that Brian's wearing in the vid above -- the one w/ Christopher Lee as Dracula on it. Bower is donning a Christ Inversion t-shirt because f*ck you.
EHG opened for GG Allin at this same dump, on a different night, & that was one for the memory books -- GG died a month later. This chick Dana that Mike & I knew (she was kinda hot!) dropped Mike & I off after that one....or maybe that was after a different show there, but it was definitely after an "EHG at RC Bridge" gig. Man, were we torn-up back then! Most of us who were in heavy bands at the time were filling-up on drink & hard drugs, daily. It took its toll on all of us in one way or another, but at least you all get some killer tunes outta the deal. Anyway, EHG played an incredible gig w/ St. Vitus & Internal Void at RC Bridge, too, which was superb. Me, Phil Anselmo, Ron Holzner (Trouble), & Marc Schultz (EHG) stood right in front of the stage, egging Vitus on as they flattened the joint. Vitus played 'til 4:30 AM. Schultz introduced me to the guitarist for Cathedral (Gaz) that night, too. He was apparently following Vitus around on tour or something. Cathedral's 'Ethereal Mirror' LP had just come out & we all loved it. Speaking of Schultz, does anyone know how he's doing? He & I were close friends, & we re-connected for a couple years, around 8 years ago or so, but he kinda fell off the face of the Earth since then. I'd just sent him a small Mind of God hoodie (my electronic music project) for his daughter to have (she loves Mind of God!), & he posted a pic of her wearing it. I just hope he's okay. He's one of the coolest cats I've ever known.
On the night of the gig in the vid above, Christ Inversion also played, & you can see their set here:

EHG are all cool cats who I've known since the early '90s when Brian joined the band, back when I was playing guitar in Apostasy. I traveled with them a bit in '01 & had an absolute blast.
