We always prefer to make traditional recipes during festive season. Today I have made a traditional recipe with a slight twist using chocolate. Lets see how to make chocolate peda.
Ingredients:
• Milk powder: 1 cup
• Cocoa powder: ¼ cup
• Milk: 1 cup
• Elaichi powder: 1 tsp
• Sugar: 3 -4 tsp
• Ghee: 1 tsp
• Pistachio: 6-7 chopped
How to prepare:
• Take a non stick pan and add I tsp of ghee. Now add 1 cup milk powder and roast for 1 or 2 mins. If it turns lumpy use a potato mashed and mash the lumps.
• Roast the powder on very loa flame as the milk powder turns brown very quickly. Keep stirring so that it doesn’t burn.
• Now add the cocoa powder and roast for another 30 secs. Then add elaichi powder and mic well. Then add sugar and add milk.
• Now mix very well so that there are no lumps. Once the sugar melts, the mixture will become thin.
• Cook on low flame while continuously stirring. Once it starts to leave the pan, remove to a plate and let it cool.
• Now grease your palm and take small portions and make small balls. Press gently to flatten a bit and then press the center with your thumb to give the shape of peda.
• Prepare all the pedas similarly. Once all are done decorate it with chopped pisachios.
• Your chocolate peda is ready for Janmashtami
