In the past 100 years, RENT is one of the only ten musicals to win the Pulitzer Prize for drama. It is a 1996 Tony Award-winning "Best Broadway Musical" and, now, a movie hit that adapts the classic story of "La Boheme." The story follows a group of artists and musicians struggling to survive on the Lower East Side of New York City. It is set in the early 1990s and at the height of the AIDs pandemic in America.
