Facebook Stories let you share photos, videos, or short updates that disappear after 24 hours, and one of the most useful features is being able to see exactly who viewed them. This is especially helpful if you’re curious about your audience or want to know which friends are engaging with your content the most. The process is straightforward and can be done directly within the Facebook app.

After uploading a story, you’ll notice that it appears at the top of your feed along with your friends’ stories. To check who has viewed it, simply tap on your own story to open it. At the bottom left corner of the screen, you’ll see an eye icon with a number next to it. That number shows the total viewers. By tapping on it, you can see a detailed list of names of the people who have watched your story.

If you haven’t uploaded a story yet, you can test this feature by creating one. Choose a photo, video, or text update, select your preferred audience (such as Public, Friends, or Custom), and post it. Once it’s live, you’ll be able to track views as people watch it. Remember that viewers will only be counted if they open your story.

It’s also worth noting that story viewers are visible only to the person who posted the story. Unlike Facebook likes or comments, viewers cannot be hidden or disguised—meaning you’ll always know exactly who has seen it. However, once the story disappears after 24 hours, you’ll lose access to the viewer list unless you’ve saved your story to your archive.

This feature is available on both Android and iOS versions of the Facebook app, as well as on desktop through the Facebook website. Checking who viewed your story can give you insights into your audience and help you manage your social interactions more effectively.
