Currently, Venom 3 has not been given a set release date by Sony Pictures after CinemaCon in 2022. While Andy Serkis helmed the last installment, Venom 3 will be directed by Kelly Marcel. The filmmaker is no stranger to the franchise, as Marcel wrote and produced the first two Venom movies. Venom 3 will also mark Marcel's directorial debut as she closes out the trilogy.

Hardy is thus far the only confirmed returning cast member for Venom 3. The British star is also co-writing the script with Marcel after doing work on Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Michelle Williams, who plays Anne Weying, has expressed interest in returning for Venom 3. The sequel is currently in pre-production as of February 2023 after Hardy shared an update on Instagram.
