Boating in a storm is an experience. We didn’t think that the rain is going to be a big issue so we stuck to our cruising plans. We are on the Kennet and Avon canal travelling from Reading to Newbury.

Cruising in torrential rain like this is not for everyone but it felt safe enough, warm enough and it felt like an adventure. After all, a writer and explorer Alfred Wainright used to say- “There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.”
