(Genesis / Mega Drive) Elemental Master - No Death Clear, 1CC - Expert | Hardest Difficulty

Played on my newest pickup, a MiSTer FPGA, with the difficulty set to the hardest level - Expert aka "Mania" on the Japanese version.

What a gem of a game! While it's pretty intuitive to pick up and play, the game becomes significantly easier after getting the first weapon. It's wide spread shot and lethal charge-up attack really packs a punch.

When you get the "Ultimate" weapon after level 5 - the beam of light that shreds bosses in 2-3 hits, even the hardest difficulty in the game becomes pretty manageable.

This game really does capture the magic of Technosoft games released in this era, I'd say even better than Thunder Force III.

If I have only 1 gripe, it would be that the weapon sound effects drown out the amazing soundtrack. I'd definitely recommend looking it up and listening to it outside of my run, it's really amazing.
