I spent 5 days at Rishikesh going around temples, Yoga Ashrams, exploring food, enjoying river rafting, participated in Ganga Arti, Sunrise at Kunjapuri temple and much more.

Depending upon availability of time at your end, you may also look at exploring: Bharat Ashram, Bhoot nath temple, Beatles Ashram, Trambkeshwar temple, Geeta Bhawan, Swarg Ashram. Apart from this there are n number of Yoga training centers and ashrams spread all over Rishikesh.

After all Rishikesh is Yoga capital of the world.

Tips to Travel in Rishikesh - Uttarakhand:

Rafting: Start before 12 noon and have food before you go for rafting.

Arti at Parmarth: It starts at 5.30 Pm, many tourists are not aware about the timing, they reach rate.

Triveni Ghat: Reach there by 6 Pm you will love the Bhajans before and after the Arti.

Bungee jumping: Book in advance.

Vashisht Gufa: Its closed between 1 to 3 pm. This is not a picnic spot, go there only if you are serious about meditation.

Sunrise at Kunjapuri: Distance is 25 km but its uphill, it will take at least 1 hour to reach this place. Target to reach 30 minutes before sunrise. Like on 9th April 2017 sunrise time was 5.50 am. I reached there at 5.30 am for complete experience.

Neer waterfall: It is a hidden gem of Rishikesh- There are two waterfalls there, you can travel to the first one by road and for 2nd one - you will need to walk 500 meters which is uphill through a passage made through rock.
