For the most part of the day, the trade remained sideways, reflecting global indecisiveness. The surge came in the last half hour, thanks to YES Bank, which shot up over 14 per cent after the lender appointed Ravneet Gill as its MD and CEO to replace Rana Kapoor. The BSE Sensex rose 87 points, or 0.24 per cent, to close at 36,195 while the NSE Nifty settled at 10,850, up 18 points.
