Fitz Gore & The Talismen - Soundnitia (1975)

Описание к видео Fitz Gore & The Talismen - Soundnitia (1975)

"Soundnitia" is the lost gem from Fitz Gore & The Talismen, originally released in 1975 and reissued in 2021. This album captures the raw, introspective energy of Fitz Gore, a Jamaican tenor saxophonist, and his experimental ensemble. Recorded live in West Germany, the album presents a unique blend of spiritual jazz, infused with deep soul and avant-garde influences. The reissue meticulously preserves the original cover design and includes Fitz's poignant poem "Sketches of Pain," adding a layer of literary depth to this musical journey.

The album opens with the haunting "Theme - The Man With The Horn," setting the stage for an exploration of musical and emotional landscapes. Tracks like "Song For My Father" and "Mariella` Amor" showcase the group's ability to blend traditional jazz with a spiritual, almost meditative quality. The inclusion of John Coltrane’s “Dahomey Dance“ and the Horace Silver classic "Song For My Father" pays homage to jazz greats while infusing the tracks with their own unique style. Fitz Gore's powerful saxophone, combined with the talents of Ulrich Kurth on piano, Gérard Ebbo on bass, Philippe Zobda-Quitman on drums, and Lamont Hampton on congas, creates a compelling narrative that is both timeless and deeply moving.
