Hey folks. For those who saw my VR climbing wall effort a while back, there is some progress.

This started from a 3d photogrammetric scan of my garage climbing wall. I used this for a desktop app where I could place markers on the 3d model, just as a way of logging and saving routes.

Since Oculus released the passthrough API, I decided to move the app from desktop to the quest. The app allows for alignment of the real wall and the virtual 3d wall and then loads routes from the server used by my desktop app. This way I can climb routes with hold markers displayed right in front of me while I climb.

As a bonus, there is loads of potential here now for building games to make the experience more fun, or a HUD type thing which keeps track of I guess anything from heart rate to number of moves climbed etc...

Not a game dev myself so ideas welcome and anybody who fancies pairing up for a demo project, I'd welcome the help. 🙂
