अधिवक्ता कुञ्जनी परियार पोखरामा बसेर कानून व्यवसाय गर्छिन् । महिला, दलित एवं मानव अधिकारका मुद्दाहरुमा बढी क्रियाशील छन् । रुकुमको चौरजहारीमा २०७७ जेठ १० गते नवराज विकसहित छ जनालाई खेदी-खेदी मारिएको विभत्स हत्याकाण्डमा पीडितका पक्षबाट वकालत गरेर २४ जनाविरुद्ध जन्मकैदको फैसला गराउन सक्रिय भूमिका खेल्नेमध्येमा उनी पनि थिइन् ।

युवा, दलित र महिला — यी तीनवटा परिचय बोकेर अघि बढ्दा समाजमा भोग्नुपर्ने अवरोध एवं भेदभावकी भुक्तभोगी हुन् उनी । कुञ्जनीको आफ्नै जीवन थुप्रै किसिमका संघर्षहरुले भरिएको छ— एकल आमाको सन्तानका रुपमा हुर्किदाका समस्या, पढ्नकै निम्ति गर्नुपरेको ‘संघर्ष’, आमाको नाममा नागरिकताको प्रमाणपत्र लिंदा भोग्नुपरेको सास्ती, दलित भएका कारण पाइला-पाइलामा झेल्नुपरेको भेदभाव, वकिल बनेपछि समेत आफ्नो पेशागत क्षेत्रमा व्यहोर्नु परिरहेको असहज व्यवहार आदि ।

कुञ्जनी परियारको जीवन आफैंमा एक प्रतिनिधि-कथा हो नेपाली समाजको ।

Advocate Kunjani Pariyar is a legal practitioner based in Pokhara, actively involved in women, Dalit, and human rights issues. She notably played a crucial role in securing life imprisonment for 24 individuals by advocating on behalf of the victims in a gruesome murder case. That incident had occurred in Rukum’s Chaurjahari, where six people, including Nawaraj BK, lost their lives on May 23, 2020.

Kunjani has faced numerous obstacles and discrimination as she navigates society with three intersecting identities — youth, Dalit, and woman. Her personal journey is marked by various struggles, including growing up as the child of a single mother, overcoming educational challenges, obtaining a citizenship certificate in her mother’s name, and enduring discrimination due to her Dalit background. Even after becoming a lawyer, she continues to encounter discomfort and bias in her professional field.

Kunjani Pariyar’s life itself is a representative story of Nepali society.
