Dr. Brewer started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many preventable heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. While there, he went on the run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine. A viewer asked about metformin and weight loss. John L mentioned low carb diet. There are endocrine reasons for a low-carb diet. Not only does it not stop fat burning. It also doesn't trigger ghrelin. Ghrelin is the hunger hormone.
So, again, I think this is some of the clearer evidence about low carb diets. They don't stimulate the hunger hormone Ghrelin. And they don't stimulate adrenal hormones, like cortisol and DHEA.
