Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is expected to become the next football coach at the University of North Carolina, ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Wednesday afternoon citing sources.

Earlier on Wednesday, the University of North Carolina's Board of Trustees held an emergency meeting, where the board was expected to discuss a contract for a new football coach, WRAL reported citing sources familiar with the process.
