Teresa Dickinson, deputy Australian statistician, Census and Data Services Group, Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), shares how ABS delivered a seamless digital experience with no unscheduled downtime using AWS. The service offerings included the online form, census website, a content management system and self-service facilities such as ‘not-at-home’ reporting, request a new Census number, and paper form requests. The service peaked with 142 forms submitted per second on the first night of the campaign. ABS scaled to enable 2.8 million households to submit forms in a 24-hour period on Census Day.
