My first Salsa lesson in Medellin Colombia was at DanceFree dance studio in the Poblado area of town. Just 3 blocks from Parque LLeres. It's called Dancefree because they have free group dance lessons around 8pm each night. On the weekends a band starts right afterwards. There are numerous other places to go salsa dancing, one of which is Son Havana which is in the Laureles part of town. It's small, but well known for good music. The music starts at 12:30AM if I'm not mistaken. You can of course have an instructor come to your residence for a private lesson. I did a few times until she flaked out with the times. But it only cost me around $10 for the hour. Salsa lessons in Medellin Colombia are easy to find and relatively inexpensive if you're from the US. One thing about Dancefree medellin; I had three different dance instructors and none of them spoke English. I speak a little Spanish, so it wasn't a big deal really. They'll go over a few words that mean basic steps and from then it's just repetitive. Salsa in Colombia is big though, so whether or not you want to learn, just realize that if you go out with a girl or guy that's from there, they will want to go salsa dancing. Good thing salsa lessons in Medellin are pretty easy to find.

One of the things on my to-do list for Medellin was to learn Salsa. So I begin my first class tonight. It's going to take a bit to get comfortable. Meanwhile, the struggle is real. LMAO. But this is me, goofy, clumsy or out of shape. I''m working on the health part as well. Salsa and Bachata in Medellin will definitely be helpful for fitness.
