How To Identify Wild Plants - A Guide To Botanical Terms

Hey guys in this video we take a look at the common terms used to describe the physical shape of leaves and stems. To identify wild plants for edibles or medicine it's best to understand the terms you will see in field guides as they can be confusing at times. Wild plants have a lot of variation and personal interpretation of what you see versus what you read can be completely different. Oftentimes you read about identifying a plant when it is in flower but you usually won't see a flower so understanding the terms used to describe the leaf shapes, features of their margins, and their form of growth will help you to identify plants a lot faster.

This video focuses on helping those who may be struggling with identifying plants or understanding the botanical terms used in field guides. The second part of the video will focus on flowers and their shapes and will be done sometime next year.
