Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Bauer Products Magnetic Compartment Door Holder. This is going to mount right on your RV or motor home's compartment door. It's going to provide a nice secure attachment so that you can have your door open without having to worry about it slamming shut, potentially causing damage to your gear or injury to yourself or someone else as you're loading and unloading your gear into the compartment. So this is going to be really nice to have on that compartment door just to give you a little bit extra peace of mind and security.

You will need to have a strike plate. So that is sold separately. But this will just mount to wherever that magnetic holder is going to connect. So the holder will be on the compartment door. When you raise up the compartment door, it will connect with that strike plate.That gives you about 10 pounds of weight holding capacity.

So it should be plenty for most compartment doors. And it will give you that nice, strong connection so that that door won't swing back down and potentially cause injury or damage. Now, this magnetic door holder is a nice glass-filled nylon casing. So it's going to be very durable, especially in extreme temperatures. You're not going to have to worry about it, no matter how you're storing it or where you're camping.

It will hold up and give you that stability of keeping that door open for you.And as far as getting it mounted, it's going to be very simple. You can see we've already got our screw holes here. So you just have to provide your own screws to mount this onto the surface of that compartment door. As far as our overall dimensions go, we're looking at right at an inch and a half in diameter. Our height, right at three quarters of an inch.

And then the spacing of those screw holes is right at one inch, center to center. You can see there. So again, something very simple that you can do to just add a little bit of extra security to your compartment door, to ensure that it's not going to slam shut. It helps to not only be safe, but also for the convenience of having that door open as you're taking things in and out, not having to repeatedly open it every time that you're putting something new in there.
