Outside Closed Mohawk: Part 2 - Technical Tuesday

This Technical Tuesday is delving deeper into creating a solid foundation for the Outside Closed Mohawk.

This step is found for the lady in the Bronze Foxtrot and Starlight Waltz and also for both man & lady in the Rocker Foxtrot.

Being a step considered “difficult” for ISU ice dancers step sequences, learning this step well from the get go is a major feather in a skaters’ cap.

Avoiding common errors in our early learning stages is a big advantage.

Through rehearsing shape drills and discreet movement drills a skaters body learns to recruit the correct muscle groups and creates a playlist of moves to execute a good turn, every time.

This step deserves detailed attention, so be sure to dedicate some quality time with our drills here in part 2.
