What is Squint and what causes it?
Normally when we look through 2 eyes together should be perfectly aligned that means to say where ever the right eye is looking left eye also should look exactly at the same spot. There can be situations when the two eyes are not perfectly aligned with each other and in such a scenario one eye might be looking at a certain object and the other eye would slightly deviate from its position. When this deviation happens because this deviation has squint in common terms. As far as what causes squint there is a long list of reasons that can cause squint and squint can happen either in children or in adults. Especially in children squint can happen if they have refractive errors. Or in simple words, glass power either can have a - glass power or a + glass power myopia or hypermetropia. Each of these can be responsible for causing squint. Apart from this, they can be some situations where the media in the eye is not clear which means some of the structures in the eye where the light goes through may not be clear.
The conducting lens may be Opaque the outer area may be Opaque when any of these are opaque or the nerve conducting the impulse from the eye to the brain may not be conducting the impulses properly, when such situations happen then the vision in one of the eyes can be lesser than the other one this can cause squint. Any condition which causes one eye to have less vision than the other eye can cause squint. Any condition which causes an imbalance in the muscles between the two eyes also causes squint.
