Beginners Winter Steelhead Fishing Rig | HOW TO Setup Bobber & Jig For BANK FISHING

Описание к видео Beginners Winter Steelhead Fishing Rig | HOW TO Setup Bobber & Jig For BANK FISHING

If you are new to bank fishing for winter steelhead, summer steelhead or trout, this steelhead fishing rig is easy to setup and quite effective on the river. This How To Tutorial for beginners will get you on the right track, so you can get setup and start fishing with the bobber and jig setup.
I use this float fishing setup for all kinds of fishing since it is easy to use, and with a couple of adjustments in your weight, bobber, and jig size, you can go from fishing this setup for Salmon and Steelhead down to smaller species like Trout.
I will cover the rods and reels that are best for this type of fishing in another video, as well as get out and show you how i fish this steelhead rig, bank fishing on a river.
In my opinion, this steelhead rig is easy to setup but where some practice comes in is when you are figuring out the depth you should be fishing. This is where the bobber stop comes into play, the further you slide your bobber stop up the line, the deeper your jig will be in the water. Typically, this rig is fished best when your jig is about 1 inch from the river bottom.
knowing Steelhead are most often in that 4-8ft range, it gives us a starting point (fish can be shallower or deeper than the 4-8ft range) I typically just guess the depth for my first cast. If my bobber is rocking like it's dragging on the bottom or stopping, then you are too deep. Just shorten up the depth a bit and cast back out. I continue this until my bobber stands upright. If on my first cast it stands up straight like it should, i will actually make an adjustment and fish it another couple inches deeper until i find the bottom. Then you can just make that adjustment to be fishing in the strike zone. Making adjustments to be in that strike zone in all areas you are fishing is key to putting that jig in a fishes face.
Thanks for watching and best of luck to all of you!
