Episode Notes:

1. Captured on the Mega SG and real hardware.

2. I do plan on reviewing Sonic & Knuckles separately, as well.

3. 1994 was the only year Sonic received two mainline titles within 12 months of one another(Sonic 3/Sonic&Knuckles). Sonic Spinball was released the previous November, giving us 3 Sonic titles on the Genesis within a single year.

4. Super Sonic makes this game crazy easy, but don't be fooled into thinking getting him is no challenge itself. You need to put time into practicing the bonus stages so you can nab Super Sonic as quickly as possible.

5. Sonic 3 was developed at Sega of America in California. Sonic Team was at STI while making it, though they had little contact with the American staff.

6. As much as I hate to say it, Sonic 3 & Knuckles was a huge mistake on the Genesis. With the Saturn releasing in late 1994 in Japan and the US the following year, Sega needed to have Sonic Team hunkered down making a 3D Sonic for its new platform. And Genesis projects should have been turned over to Sega of America for development. The entire process was ass backwards and leaving Sonic Xtreme for the US arm to take care of was a disaster.
