Baker & O'Doul Joint SABR Meeting – International Women's Baseball Center (IWBC) & Women in Baseball

On Thursday, July 18, 2024, the Dusty Baker-Sacramento and Lefty O’Doul-SF Bay Area SABR chapters held a meeting about the world of women's baseball and the International Women's Baseball Center (IWBC). Leslie Heaphy, SABR Board V.P. and President of the IWBC, discussed the fascinating history of women in the game. Kat Williams, CEO of the IWBC and SABR board member, provided an update on the IWBC. Plans for a museum and activity center in Rockford, Illinois, are being developed by noted Chicago architect, Jeanne Gang.

We also learned about The Women's Baseball Heritage Trail and upcoming Women in Baseball Week (July 21-27) from Ryan Woodward, Project Director at the IWBC.

Additionally, SABR and the IWBC host an annual Women in Baseball Conference. The 2024 conference will be held virtually September 20-22, 2024.
