Manipur Ground Zero I "This Is War" I In Manipur's Rice Fields Men with Guns Guard The Night

One of the key challenges for the security agencies and government in Manipur is to disarm the civilian population. An estimated 4000 weapons are in circulation, many of which were looted from armouries. Especially in villages which border Kuki and Meitei communities, male volunteers in the villages, take turn to patrol the fields, armed with guns. Barkha Dutt reports from Village Phayeng on the language of battle- bunkers, patrols and guns- where the conversation was once about pineapples and vegetables.
