You make decisions in almost every aspect of the life. Cautiously or sub-cautiously, you keep making decisions across the activities you perform. You literally make decisions from very small to highly critical activities of the life.

you use a diamond or Rhombus to represents decision in a flowchart. The decision is generally a question that has a yes or no as an answer. It is not just the activities follows or are followed by just a single decision. You can have chain of multiple decisions that are interdependent. Based on the output a decision, you make another decision, which can further lead to another decision.

Putting multiple decisions at various steps when creating a program makes sure that the program you are creating has strong decisions in place. The program tends to be secure, fool proof and help in achieving its aim.

At times, you need to repeat some activities before you complete a task. These are known as loops or iterations. Iterations usually depend on a decision. As long as a condition of a decision, whether yes or no, is satisfied, the activities need to be repeated.

Create a flowchart for a shopping website where you display items to the user and allow the user to add items to the shopping cart. With addition of each item to the shopping cart, verify if the item is available in the stock.

If yes, add it to the shopping cart, else display a message and start subprocess to notify procurement department. Check if the user wants to continue with shopping. If yes, go to the display items process, else proceed to check out.

If not already logged in, login to the system. Check the credentials of the user. If these are correct, proceed to payments, save transaction to the database and terminate the task. If credentials are not correct, check if the user wants to continue. If yes, allow the user to login again, else terminate the task.
