How to Make Bell Sleeves | How to Make a Long Sleeve Shirt with Bell Sleeves

Learn how to sew a bell sleeve shirt with no pattern needed in this step by step sewing tutorial! I show you how to make a scoop neck shirt with the bell sleeves, but you could also add these sleeves to other bodices, dresses, etc. by following the sleeve part of the tutorial and adding them to other projects (they would work great on many of my skater dress and cold shoulder top tutorials, so mix and match the bodice/dress from those with the sleeves here).

MATERIALS NEEDED:

Fabric: at least 1.5 yards of a stretch knit fabric – I used a four way stretch ITY knit, and I find that four way stretch fabrics work great for these types of tops; I’ve also used a four way stretch double brushed knit which worked well, although I did have more trouble with the hem looking wavy (you can use a walking foot to combat that).

A fitted shirt with sleeves for a template/pattern (it won’t get cut or destroyed)
