The Huajiang Canyon Bridge is a high-speed passage in Guizhou Province , China. It is located above the Huajiang Grand Canyon Scenic Area , a national 3A-level scenic spot in Huajiang Town, Guanling Buyi and Miao Autonomous County , Anshun City, Guizhou Province , at the junction of Guanling Buyi and Miao Autonomous County and Zhenfeng County , Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. The bridge deck is 625 meters above the water surface, with a total length of 2,890 meters and a main span of 1,420 meters.

Huajiang Gorge Bridge is a key control project of Liuzhi-Anlong Expressway . The main bridge is a single-span steel truss suspension bridge with a span of 1,420 meters. The vertical distance between the bridge deck and the water surface is 625 meters. Construction officially started on January 18, 2022 and is expected to be completed on June 30, 2025. After completion, it will not only surpass the Beipanjiang Bridge on the Hangrui Expressway to become the world's tallest bridge, but will also become the bridge with the longest span in mountainous areas. The Huajiang Canyon Bridge Tourism Integration Project takes the Yundu Service Area near the bridge as its central scenic area. The total land area of the project is 268.17 acres. The service area includes hotels, sightseeing service buildings, toll booths, sports and tourism projects, etc.



Bridge Design
The main bridge of Huajiang Gorge Bridge has a span of 1,420 meters and a total of 93 steel truss segments with a total weight of 21,000 tons.
Each bridge caulking plate is 25.2 meters long, 6.3 meters wide, and weighs 43.8 tons. There are 92 caulking plates in total. The project team used double-layer hoisting technology during construction.
The main cables of the Huajiang Gorge Bridge can withstand 1100°C flames for one hour. The main cables are the core load-bearing components of a suspension bridge and are known as the "lifeline" of the suspension bridge. The main cables of the Huajiang Gorge Bridge have entered the fire-resistant and anti-corrosion construction stage. The main cables, now in super-strong new clothes, can remain safe even if they burn for 60 minutes in a 1100°C fire environment,

Value and significance
As a key bridge-tourism integration project in Guizhou during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the Huajiang Canyon Bridge is also planned to have a service area. Supporting bridge-tourism integration projects such as the bridge museum, 200-meter vertical sightseeing elevator, high-altitude sightseeing cafe and restaurant have been launched simultaneously. After completion, it will drive the development of the first, second and third industries with tourism as the core in the surrounding ethnic villages, and add a strong stroke to the rural revitalization and modernization construction.
