You are looking at one of the rarest Ducati motorcycles out there. With its beautiful carbon fiber body, a beastly 1,200cc engine and 162 HP on tap, this is the product of an ardent, yet short-lived affair between AMG and Ducati.

Back in 2010, both companies announced that they would join forces; a bold move that many believed would result in Daimler AG acquiring the Italian icon.

It began with AMG sponsoring the works Ducati Moto GP team. Valentino Rossi and Lewis Hamilton were seen trading seats behind the wheel of Mercedes-AMG Formula-1 or DTM cars, as well as premiering the new CLS63 and C63 AMG models surrounded by beautiful Italian models (and we mean motorcycles).

Rumor at the time was that company executives daydreamed about an AMG-tuned Ducati Diavel (Italian for "Devil"). This dream would run along the lines of AMG's "One man, one engine" motto that promoted the AMG-tuned Mercedes-Benz lineup.

A prototype Ducati was photographed by the media on the AMG stage during the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. With Serial Number 0000, this motorcycle started life as a range-topping Ducati Diavel Carbon, with its carbon fiber body, before receiving a plethora of AMG upgrades.

A few months later, "mass" production started quietly in early 2012. The goal: To build 1,000 units for the entire world.

The AMG upgrades on the Ducati Diavel Carbon were significant:

PERFORMANCE UPGRADES:
- More aggressive camshaft timing; set by hand. In pure AMG fashion, the left side of the engine carries the signature of the technician who performed this operation.
- AMG ECU tune.
- Less restrictive AMG exhaust.
- AMG-designed, light-weight Marchesini aluminum wheels. These wheels provided a 2.5lbs weight savings which further improved performance thanks to lower un-sprung mass.

COSMETIC UPGRADES:
- AMG Diamondweiss Pearl (Code 799) center stripe over the matte black carbon fiber body.
- AMG Alcantara seat.
- Laser etched AMG logo on each side of the fuel tank.
- Serial-numbered "Diavel AMG Special Edition" plate.

By then, the rumor of an AMG-tuned Ducati had spread like wildfire with dealerships rushing to take deposits; all bikes virtually spoken for before they were made!

With Diavel AMG production underway towards the end of 2012, news broke that the Italians have been flirting behind the scenes with the Volkswagen Group (VAG), to the point that now AUDI (owned by VAG) was purchasing Ducati.

Daimler AG would not stand still after this alleged betrayal and ordered an immediate cut of all ties with Ducati. Production of the Diavel AMG came to a screeching halt overnight with VAG spoke people rushing to deny any rumors of the existence of an AMG-tuned Ducati.

Fortunately, the reality didn't match the news bulletins as some 600 units had been built by then, and were in the process of being shipped to a few fortunate enthusiasts around the globe.

This, is number 0152 of those Diavel AMG motorcycles, and it signifies the legacy of a partnership between two motorsport icons; a short lived venture that will likely never happen again.

One owner example in 100% original, zero modifications, zero scratches and showroom-new condition. And only 597 original miles on the odometer.

Complete service history to day one.

600-Mile and annual services completed by Ducati dealership in July of 2021 included:

- New Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires.
- New timing belts.
- Oil/filter service.
- Brake fluid flush.
- Driving chain tension inspected.
- Brake pads inspected, and more.

This Ducati Diavel AMG needs nothing but a new caring owner.
