Santorini | Emporio Village

Emporio Village is the largest of villages in Santorini, 12 kilometres from Fira, the main town of island, and is perched on the foothills of Mount Prophitis Ilias, the highest peak on the island. There's a regular bus service from Fira. Or you may wish to rent a 4-wheel-bike and keep it your own schedule.

Emporio Villages in Greek means the place of commerce, which possibly was back in the old days.

Santorini has several large inland villages that were in the past thriving marketplaces for the island's produce, and still attract those who seek a bit of peace away from the tourist track.
