The Salamanca Reel is a great Trad Irish tune which has been recorded my many fiddlers. The tune is a popular session reel, and it’s a great choice for the beginner to intermediate-level player. Kevin Burke played the tune frequently during his time with The Bothy Band, and the version he teaches in this lesson is based on the Bothy Band version. The tune is played out of the key of D, and it features many rolls once you get it up to speed. Kevin walks us through his version of the tune in this lesson.
