A key question to ask yourself is: who are you surrounding yourself with?

If your goal is to be better as a CIO, who are your top 5 CIOs that you call your friends, and really think about who they are.

I don't mean who are you friendly with, but who are those CIOs that are actually a stretch for you, that you're invigorated to listen to, to be around, to read their material. You get invigorated, but they're not technically a part of your friend pool.

What I want you to do is to think, how can I have my closes group of CIOs be elevated, so that you're forming an informal team around yourself so you can stretch, so you can accomplish the things that you want to accomplish.

It's very, very challenging to grow 10x within your own bubble. You've got to reach out to those have stretched beyond you so that you pull those people close and tight.
