The 5513 Submariner doesn’t need any introduction. Initially presented in 1962, its career spanned over close to 30 years ! A true timeless piece, the 5513 remains the “no date” Submariner by excellence. A watch with no flourishes, quite raw but still very refined, the 5513 certainly has a lot of character and is surely is a “must have” in every watch collection.

The 5513 offers two very positive assets. First, its dial is a wonder of sobriety and balance, with its two lines, and its “symmetrical” look allowed by the absence of date window. Secondly, the 5513 offers a large dial opening, resulting in a very luminous dial which reflects light in a very warm and pleasing way and making it very readable.

Our comments :

Very nice 5513 indeed. It offers a very pleasing patina, with matching index, pearl and hands and a very nice “fat font” insert which suits it quite well. The case and bracelet are in very good shape as well, making this 5513 a very appealing vintage watch thanks to its very harmonious look.

The rare Pre-COMEX is the cherry on the cake : it offers large indexes, a nice patina, and a deep black color that makes it very warm and brings out a nice contrast with the hands… What else to ask for ?

Notre commentaire :

Très bel exemplaire de 5513 : parfaitement homogène, elle présente une patine très agréable et uniforme des index, de la bille et des aiguilles ainsi qu’un très bel insert « fat font » qui lui sied parfaitement. La carrure et le bracelet étant à l’avenant, cette pièce offre tout ce que l’on attend d’une belle vintage : un ensemble harmonieux qui dégage une vraie personnalité. Que demander de plus ?

Le rare cadran Pré-Comex est un « plus » et offre une superbe patine et des index bien larges, son noir profond le rend également très chaleureux et le contraste avec les aiguilles et superbe. Un must !
