The Staff Selection Commission is to release the SSC GD Notification for the recruitment of Constable (General Duty) in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles for 2025. SSC GD Recruitment drive is one of the most significant opportunities for candidates seeking a career in paramilitary forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).


This recruitment drive is important for maintaining the strength of India’s paramilitary forces, by filling vacant positions across various forces, including BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, and Assam Rifles. The positions are open to both male and female candidates, with specific provisions for different states and regions, ensuring a diverse and well-distributed workforce across the country.


SSC has issued a notification on its official website and cleared that the SSC GD Constable Notification which was scheduled to be released on 27 August, will now be issued on 05 September 2024.


Required Educational Qualification :-


• Candidates must have passed Matriculation or 10th Class from a recognized board as of 1st January 2025.


Age Limit :-


• The age limit for candidates is set between 18 to 23 years as of 1st January 2025. Candidates born earlier than 2nd January 2001 and later than 1st January 2006 are not eligible. There are permissible relaxations in the upper age limit for various categories :-


• SC/ST :- 5 years
• OBC :- 3 years
• Ex-Servicemen :- 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age.


Required Physical Standards :-


Physical standards are critical for this recruitment. Candidates must meet the following criteria :-


Height :-


• Male :- 170 cm (General candidates), with relaxation for specific categories.


• Female :- 157 cm (General candidates), with relaxation for specific categories.


Chest (For Male Candidates) :-


• Unexpanded :- 80 cm


• Minimum Expansion :- 5 cm


Weight :-


• Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.


SSC GD Recruitment Selection Process
The selection process for SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2025 is divided into multiple stages :-

• Computer-Based Examination (CBE) :- The CBE will consist of 80 objective-type questions carrying 2 marks each. The exam will cover subjects like General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi. The total duration of the exam will be 60 minutes, with negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.


• Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) :- Candidates who qualify for the CBE will be shortlisted for PST/PET. The PST involves height and chest measurements, while the PET includes a race of 5 km for male candidates to be completed in 24 minutes and 1.6 km for female candidates in 8.5 minutes.


• Medical Examination :- Candidates who clear the PST/PET will undergo a detailed medical examination to assess their physical and medical fitness according to the standards set by the CAPFs.


Application Fees :-


• The application fee for the SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2025 is ₹100, which is payable online. However, women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST and Ex-servicemen categories are exempted from paying the fee.
