Hot Car Murder of 2-Year-Old: Charges Upgraded for Christopher Scholtes

An Arizona father now faces a first-degree murder charge after his 2-year-old daughter died from being left in a hot car for hours. A grand jury indictment reads that Christopher Scholtes "committed child abuse by intentionally or knowingly, causing [redacted], a minor under fifteen, to suffer physical injury."
