EarthKeepers 360 Spiritual Advisor and leading Environmental Justice scholar delivers a presentation and course on Environmental and Resilience Justice and how faith communities can engage in these critical issues. This course gives a fantastic overview of environmental justice using real world examples from across the U.S. and practical applications of how spiritual leaders and faith communities can thoughtfully engage environmental justice issues. The class includes a modern-day parable of 3 congregations seeking to understand how to do justice, love their neighbors, and care for God’s creation. This parable introduces several key insights that can help us to live these bold spiritual and moral imperatives in the world’s messy social, political, and environmental realities. The insights are connected to several different environmental-justice examples and studies, including lessons learned from the University of Louisville Resilience Justice Project.

Professor Tony Arnold is the Boehl Chair in Property & Land Use, Professor of Law, & Affiliated Professor of Urban & Public Affairs at the University of Louisville, where he directs the transdisciplinary Resilience Justice Project. He’s worked extensively in environmental justice throughout his 30+ year career and is on the core faith-leaders team of Earth Keepers 360. The photographs depict various environmental-justice issues that the RJ Project addresses, as well as speaking at a National Environmental Justice Conference with grassroots activists and US EPA officials. This class was co-hosted by EarthKeepers 360 and First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe as part of larger Earth Summer Series.
