Alappuzha Kollam boat service or Kollam Alappuzha boat service run by Kerala government SWTD is the best and cheapest option to experience Kerala backwater. This is a cheapest alternative to costly Alappuzha house boats. This service is available daily from Alappuzha to Kollam or Kollam to Alappuzha and is the longest boat service passing through National Waterway 3 in Kerala operated by SWTD. This video will show you the beauty of this backwater experience.
Timing: Start by 10:30 AM and Reach destination by 6:00 - 6:30 PM

Major Highlights in the Journey:
* 80 KM incredible backwater experience (longest boat service in kerala).
* Passing through major lakes Punnamada Lake(part of Vembanad lake), Kayamkulam lake, Ashtamudi lake.
* Can feel the beauty of kerala backwaters/scenery, paddy fields, kerala village life, house boats, country boats all around.
* Major points - Karumadikuttan (Budha statue), Kumarakodi (Kumaranasan memorial), Amritapuri, Thrikkunapuzha Sluice guage, Kayamkulam NTPC, Ayiramthengu harbour, KMML etc.
* Courteous staff, they will support as guides.

Things you need to take care:
* No booking, come and report at boat jetty (always call and confirm the availability of service) max seating capacity is 74.
* Some times May-Jun-July months this service may not be available
* Upper deck offers better view but during noon we can feel the heat.

Ticket Price : 600 for adults, 300 for kids above 5 years (revised in 2020-Jan, previous rate was 400). Lunch, tea/snacks are payable separately.
