BJP women’s wing to take out motorcycle rally in Madurai

With an eye on Madurai Lok Sabha seat, the Bharatiya Janata Party, through its State women’s wing, is organising a motorcycle rally by women with the slogan, ‘Modi Again,’ here on February 13, Wednesday.

BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan would address the cadre, said women’s wing State president A.R. Mahalakshmi here on Friday. Stating that women had greatly benefited under the Narendra Modi-led government, she said women employees had been given 26 weeks of maternity leave. “Not just the party men, but also the common people want Modi to return to power after being witness to the development of the country n in the past five years,” she said.

For Madurai, the Centre had given the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Smart City project.

To a question on confusion within the party after she expressed a desire to contest from Madurai, Ms. Mahalakshmi refuted it. “Only the party high command will decide on the candidate,” she said.

The rally will start around 10 a.m. from Tallakulam, go through Tamukkam and end near Tamil Sangam.
