"Harsh Poddar is a dashing, young and innovative officer. He resigned a plush job abroad and returned to serve the nation. His work as assistant superintendent in communally sensitive Malegaon earned him accolades not only in the state but throughout the country. He implemented Project 'Udan' for unemployed youth, which gave free guidance on employment. About 24,000 youths in Malegaon benefitted from this project. He also started Maharashtra Police Youth Parliament to fight against crime, terrorism and religious fundamentalism and 42,000 youths participated in this project by 2018. He was felicitated by the state government for this endeavour. During the Bhima Koregaon episode, clashes took place in many parts of the state but Malegaon remained peaceful. During the June 2018 violence in Malegaon, he protected a family and it is the first such incident in this period. He implemented public awareness plans and took criminal action against fake news. He has helped the CID in two big economic offences and has also written a book 'Guntavanuk ghotalache kaiyadwar.' Due to his efforts, Vaijapur police station became the first smart police station in the state."
