Aveling Barford Calf Dozer in Action

Описание к видео Aveling Barford Calf Dozer in Action

Up until the 1940's British manufacturer Aveling Barford produced road rollers and dumptrucks. At that time they identified the need in the construction industry for a bulldozer suitable for small backfill and leveling jobs, thus the calf dozer concept was born. The Calf dozer weighed in at 1.65 tonnes and was 1.88 metres long by 1.36 metres wide.
It was mostly powered by a designed for purpose Dorman 800 cc single cylinder, four stroke petrol engine rated at nine horse power. The unique feature of the Calf dozer was the precarious operators position directly behind the blade, and I can only imagine the various risks it posed to life and limb!
