විශේෂ බලකා මහවිරු ලෆීර්ගේ අවසන් මෙහෙයුම - The last attempt to save Besieged Mullativu Camp (1996)

LTTE launched a massive attack on Mullativu Army Base, which was code named as Unceasing Waves on 18th July 1996. The camp which was a brigade headquarter at that time suffered heavy losses within the first 24 hours of the attack amounting to at least 1000 deaths as per the reports. As a result, Special Forces were deployed to the Alampil beach, few kilometers south of Mullativu with the aim of saving the besieged Army Base. This episode reveals the horrific effort made by the Special Forces to land on the Alampil beach and secure a land strech to allow the other supporting troops to come in.
