Breaking Barriers: Dr. Shirin Enger on Applied Research in AI and How it Can Change Healthcare

We are thrilled to welcome Dr Shirin A. Enger! Dr Enger received her Ph.D. degree from Uppsala University in 2009 and was a postdoctoral fellow at ‪@universitelaval‬ from 2009 to 2011. She is an associate professor at the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology at ‪@mcgillu‬ and the director of the medical physics unit. She also is a Canada Research Chair in Medical Physics, Co-Director at FRQS Experimental Therapeutics Axes, Associate Member, Department of Physics, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Investigator - Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, and Associate Academic Member, Mila - Quebec AI Institute.

Dr Enger shares how she began her career, from being inspired by Marie Curie as a child in her small town in Sweden, to building an interdisciplinary, innovative, and successful research program in Montreal encompassing AI, medical physics, engineering and more. Dr Enger shares how she has avoided labels in her career, allowing her to pursue her exciting, boundary-pushing work in healthcare innovation in Canada.
