Hey ladies, you might be wondering, is hormone therapy the same as birth control? Unlike birth control pills, HRT or hormone replacement therapy doesn't suppress the production of our own hormones, but adds hormones to our body on top of what we do or don't already have, even after menopause.

Your ovaries produce hormones, although at much lower levels than in the past. So it's important if you're going through the change that you do look into supplementing your hormones, especially if you have bothersome symptoms that are really affecting your life.
