IFOR - Implementation Force (1995-1996) and SFOR - Stabilisation Force (1996-2005) was a military force in Bosnia and Herzegovina under NATO command.

In the beginning, there was IFOR (Implementation Force, 1995) that replaced UNPROFOR, where after a one-year term IFOR was reformed into SFOR, which enters into force from 20th December 1996, well down to the 20th December 2004. years. 39 countries participated in the SFOR mission, among which several non-NATO countries participated.

The goal (main mission) of SFOR was to keep peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement, so that there would not be another armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosnia was completely unorganized and completely unstable in that period).

IFOR and SFOR were assigned to "Zones of Responsibility" and was divided into 3 large operational areas (Mostar, Tuzla, Banja Luka).

After 2004 Summit in Istanbul, SFOR mission in Bosnia saw its end, but also the beginning of today's famous EUFOR, which continues its second mission stabilizing Bosnian military (The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina).
