I have been passing this site on my way to the Radstock area for awhile, so it was time to explore Oxley's Colliery at Buckland Dinham, This was the expensive white elephant of the Somerset coalfields as no coal ever reached the surface. Seams of coal were found but extreme flooding meant the pit was abandon.
I have to admit I was a bit stupid standing in the shaft areas but I felt it was safe I known people will think differently.
