Sonar Systems: These submarines are outfitted with sophisticated sonar arrays, including a bow-mounted sphere sonar and a wide aperture lightweight fiber optic sonar array, enabling superior detection capabilities in various marine environments.
Crew and Technology: Typically manned by a crew of around 130, the 688-class submarines incorporate advanced technology for navigation, communication, and combat systems to operate effectively in multi-threat environments.
