Hello friends, in this video we are going to see all the astronomical events which are going to occur in August 2021. Make sure to watch this video till the end because the last astronomical event of this month is going to be the most spectacular one. So, don't miss that out.

So now moving to this video
The first astronomical event of August will be on 2nd of August in which Saturn will be at opposition.
So what will exactly happen in this?
The ringed planet will be at its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun. It will be brighter than any other time of the year and will be visible all night long. This is the best time to view and photograph Saturn and its moons. A medium-sized or larger telescope will allow you to see Saturn's rings and a few of its brightest moons.


So now the next event of the month. This is the New moon. This will occur on the 8th of August
The Moon will located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. This phase occurs at 13:51 UTC. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere.

Then on August 12 and 13 the peak of the Perseid meteor shower will occur. This meteor shower is the best meteor shower of the year. After this on August 19 Jupiter will be at Opposition. The giant planet will be at its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun. It will be brighter than any other time of the year and will be visible all night long. This is the best time to view and photograph Jupiter and its moons. A medium-sized telescope should be able to show you some of the details in Jupiter's cloud bands. A good pair of binoculars should allow you to see Jupiter's four largest moons, appearing as bright dots on either side of the planet.

Then, finally the last Astronomical event of this month will be a spectacular blue moon. This event will occur on August 22.But what time will this appear, Will this really be blue? I've made a dedicated video on the blue moon occuring this year.
