Ramps on Race Tracks

This video includes accidents that led to injuries to drivers. I do not include these with any intention of disrespecting the drivers, drivers' teams, or drivers' families. I included these incidents to help bring awareness to the danger brought about by poor choices in track design. Drivers, marshals, and spectators will continue to be put at risk unless tracks and governing bodies make the decision to stop using sausage kerbs.

Unsurprisingly, having ramps as a feature on a racetrack can be dangerous...

*Some of these objects in the videos included were not sausage kerbs, but either served for similar intentions or were clearly badly designed/misplaced.

Crashes & Incidents Included:

1. 2022 Indy Lights Road America Race (Christian Bogle)
The driver was uninjured in this incident.

2. 2022 F2 Silverstone Race (Dennis Hauger & Roy Nissany)
The drivers were uninjured in this incident.

3. 2018 F3 Macau Race (Sophia Flörsch)
Flörsch sustained spine injuries in the crash, but has since recovered and has participated in various endurance races.

4. 2019 F3 Monza Race (Alexander Peroni)
After his incident, Peroni suffered from fractured vertebrae and a concussion. He returned to F3 for the following season, later racing elsewhere.

5. 2018 NASCAR Cup Charlotte Roval Practice (Erik Jones)
The driver was uninjured in this incident.

6. 2014 FE Beijing Race (Nick Heidfeld)
The driver was uninjured in this incident.

7. 2018 WEC Spa Francorchamps Race (Matevos Isaakyan)
The driver was uninjured in this incident.

8. 2014 GP3 Spa Francorchamps Practice (Konstantin Tereshchenko)
The driver was uninjured in this incident.

9. 2018 F2 Monaco Race (Sean Gelael)
The driver was uninjured in this incident.

10 (Deleted). 2021 NASCAR Cup Indianapolis Road Course Race (Michael McDowell)
The driver was uninjured in this incident.

11. 2020 F2 Spain Race (Sean Gelael)
Gelael suffered a broken vertebra in this accident. He now races in WEC.

12-13. 2016 EFO Championship Spa Francorchamps Race (Nikita Zlobin & Igor Waliłko)
The drivers were uninjured in these incidents.

14. 2021 IndyCar Indianapolis Grand Prix Race (Scott McLaughlin)
The driver was uninjured in this incident and continued the race without damage.

15. 2021 FR Monza Race (David Vidales)
The drivers were uninjured in this incident.

16. 2021 W Series COTA Race (Abbie Eaton)
After being hospitalized following the incident, Eaton was diagnosed with a fractured vertebra.

17. 2021 F4 COTA Race (Christian Weir)
Happening just one day after Eaton's crash, Weir sustained similar injuries to his spine.

18-19. 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Indianapolis Road Course Race (Kris Wright & Several Others)
All drivers were uninjured in these incidents.
