International Men’s Day is fast approaching, and to mark the occasion, the Belize Training and Employment Center (BTEC) is hosting a training session on emotional intelligence. The training, “Emotional Intelligence for Men and Boys in Leadership” is being held on November 18 at BTEC’s Belize City office. The training aims to give participants a greater understanding of emotions and equip them with practical skills to help them manage their emotions. Tremett Perriott, Curriculum Development Officer for BTEC says that the training will provide a safe space for men and boys to participate in difficult discussions with a professional counselor. 

Perriott said that the workshop is being held on the 18 to avoid clashing with the Garifuna Settlement Day Celebrations on November 19, which is also International Men’s Day.
