Dinobot Sludge is one of my favorite characters because of his design. Both the cartoon character as the TF figure look excellent.

Sludge, Slag and Grimlock were the 1st batch of Dinobots. The second batch were Swoop and Snarl. Spike and Wheeljack went to the museum and came up with an idea to make powerful robot dinosaurs. Their brains were implemented to be simple, like the original Dinosaurs. One of Sludge's main characteristics is that he's a follower. He only follows the strongest, which is Grimlock. Sludge, Slag and Grimlock beat up Optimus Prime after Megatron persuaded them to take the leadership of the Autobots because Grimlock was supposedly stronger than Optimus. They failed to realize that brute force isn't the most important factor for leadership, but wisdom. Sludge appears in many episodes of Transformers.

The figure has an excellent transformation. The only cheat is that his arms fold underneath his dinosaur body, but the separate lower arms and hands are worth having him transform that way. He's got chrome parts and a metal chest.
